Yesterday we hiked up the hill behind our house to check on the logging progress. The work appears finished for now. They took out a lot of nice trees and really opened up the view.
The size of the slash piles the loggers left is really impressive. It remains to be seen how they are going to dispose of these, but there's a lot of nice firewood here for someone if they are inclined to hike up and retrieve it.

First time visitor. I enjoyed looking at your blog and am envious of the beautiful Montana setting. I only see it in the summer when spouse and I come out flyfishing in the Bitteroot range.
